Export to PDFAvePoint Cloud Index supports integrating with Windows Search Service to find files/folders more easily in your public shared folders, which indexes the files/folders on the computer for a faster search experience.
To integrate with Windows Search Service, make sure the Windows Search Services has been enabled, and the Indexing Options have been configured. Refer to the following sections for details:
By default, Window Search Service is enabled in Windows 10. However, you must manually enable the Windows Search Service in Windows Server 2012, in Windows Server 2012 R2, in Windows Server 2016, and in Windows Server 2019.
To enable Windows Search Service in Windows Server 2012, in Windows Server 2012 R2, in Windows Server 2016, and in Windows Server 2019, follow the steps below.
Log in to the server where the connection path resides with the Administrator account and start Server Manager.
Click Manage, and then click Add Roles and Features.
On the Before you begin page, click Next.
On the Installation Type page, select Role-based or Feature-based Installation, and then click Next.
On the Server Selection page, select the server or virtual hard disk on which to install Windows Search Service, and then click Next.
On the Server Roles page, click Next to skip the selection.
On the Features page, select Windows Search Service, and then click Next.
On the Confirmation page, verify that Windows Search Service is listed and then click Install.
To configure the Indexing Options, complete the steps below.
Log in to the server where the connection path resides with the Administrator account, navigate to Control Panel > Indexing Options.
*Note: Indexing Options only appears when the Windows Search Service has been enabled.
On the Indexing Options page, click Modify.
On the Indexed Locations page, select the location of the UNC path configured in your Cloud Index connection in the Change selected locations area. Click OK.
*Note: Only the public shared folders in the selected location will support searching files with the Windows Search Service.
On the Indexing Options page, click Advanced.
On the Advanced Options, click Rebuild under the Index Settings tab.
On the Rebuild Index dialog box, click OK to rebuild the index.
