#Data Retention

Data retention setting allows administrators to control how long data is retained by module, enabling long‑term trend analysis while maintaining performance. By default, tyGraph retains 36 months (3 years) of data, with the option to extend retention by purchasing additional years.

Go to Settings > Data retention, and follow the instructions below to manage the retention by module:

1. On the Data retention page, locate the tenant that you want to manage the data retention.

2. Select a module and click Edit.

3. In the Edit data retention panel, specify the retention period.

   NOTE

   Data removed after the retention period cannot be recovered.

4. Review Retain data from, which defines the earliest date from which data is kept.

5. Click Save to save your configurations.
