Release Date for the U.S. Government Environment: March 13, 2022

General Updates

  • You can now define an end date and time for the project level notifications in the migration policy.

  • When using the Import method to add mappings, you can now use the Custom files filter to browse the CSV and Excel files only.

  • Improvements were made for enhanced migration performance.

What’s New in SharePoint Online Migration?

  • When using the Auto map method to map source and destination site collections, you can now only configure the container in the source connection. Fly can automatically add the destination site collection URLs using the source site collection information and the destination domain.

  • Fly now provides seven customized features for SharePoint Online migrations. You can configure customized feature strings in the migration policy to define how to migrate your data.

  • Before migrating the managed metadata service, Fly will check if the destination service account or app@sharepoint account has the Term Store Administrator role. If the account does not have the role, Fly will not migrate the managed metadata service to the destination.

  • For a migration job that manages sensitivity labels, Fly can now report the labels that have been removed and applied in the migration report.

  • When there are multiple lists with the same name in the source and destination, Fly will map the source list to the destination list based on the same name, relative URL, and basetype.

  • Fly can now report the membership of site collection in the site security report and the details of shared links in the Migration errors report and downloaded migration report.

  • You can now select to map the Owners, Members, and Visitors SharePoint groups to the destination Microsoft 365 group in the migration policy. Users in the Owners SharePoint group will be mapped to Microsoft 365 group owners and members. Users in the Visitors and Members SharePoint groups will be mapped to Microsoft 365 group members.

What’s New in Microsoft Teams/Microsoft 365 Groups Migration?

  • When using the Auto map method to map source and destination teams/groups, you can now only configure the container in the source connection. Fly can automatically add the destination team/group email addresses using the source team/group names and the domain of the destination service account/app profile.

What’s New in OneDrive for Business Migration?

  • For a migration job that manages sensitivity labels, Fly can now report the labels that have been removed and applied in the migration report.
