#Configure a Backup Scope for Box (Private Preview)

The Box service is currently in private preview. If you want to try this service, contact your AvePoint representative for assistance.

Follow the steps below to configure a backup scope for Box:

1. Go to the Application resilience page.

2. Click Configure on the Box service tile.

3. In the Configure backup settings window, complete the following settings:

   • Scope – In the Scope tab, turn on the Enable backup switch, and then select profiles, user list and storage profile.

     • Profile – Select profiles from the drop-down list. Enter keywords to search for the profile.

     • User list - Select from FB list and IB list, and then select users from the drop-down list.

     • Storage profile – Select a storage profile from the drop-down list.

       NOTE

       If you choose AvePoint default storage type for application resilience, the storage profile cannot be changed once saved.

   • Schedule – In the Schedule tab, select hours, days, weeks, or months from the Interval drop-down list as the unit of time for the backup interval, enter a number in the text box after Every, and then configure the start time for your first backup job. By default, the backup job will run once a day.

     • Cloud Backup for SaaS Applications supports running up to 4 jobs per day; if you select hours as the unit, the available frequency numbers in the drop-down list will be limited accordingly.

   • Retention – In the Retention tab, configure the retention period to keep the backup data in the storage. If you are using AvePoint default storage with unlimited retention period, the Unlimited option is selected automatically in the list. If you want to use a custom retention period, select Custom, enter a number in the text box, and select days, weeks, months, or years from the drop-down list. The retention period cannot be less than 1 month.

     NOTE

     After retention job is finished, Cloud Backup for SaaS Applications will send you an email notification.

4. Click Save to save this backup scope. The backup for the Box data will roll out as scheduled.
